Apple has released an update to Boot Camp that takes the utility to version 3.1. The new release not only adds support for the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system but also addresses issues with the Boot Camp software.
What is Boot Camp?
Boot Camp a utility in Mac OS X that facilitates the installation of Microsoft Windows operating system on Intel-based Macs. Following the repartitioning of the Mac hard drive and subsequent Windows installation, an Intel Mac can be booted into either Mac OS X or Windows. Thus, it provides a dual boot option for Intel-based Mac users.

About Boot Camp 3.1

The update adds support for Microsoft Windows 7 (Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate), addresses issues with the Apple trackpad, turns off the red digital audio port LED on laptop computers when it is not being used, and supports the Apple wireless keyboard and Apple Magic mouse.
Boot Camp 3.1 (in 32-bit and 64-bit and versions) requires an authentic copy of Microsoft Windows 7 (or Microsoft Windows 7 upgrade), Windows Vista SP2, or Windows XP. Apple highly recommends the update for all Boot Camp 3.0 users.
